Terms, Privacy, and Refund Policy

Review Ember's terms of use, privacy practices, and refund policy in one place, including licensing, online feature data handling, billing, credits, and refund rules.

Using Ember

These terms cover Ember's desktop app, downloads, updates, and related online services.

When you buy or activate Ember, you receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the software during your subscription term.

  • Ember is licensed, not sold.
  • You are responsible for the people and devices using your account.
  • You must have the right to process the content you upload or edit.

Subscriptions and credits

Ember is sold on a subscription basis. Plans may include a monthly credit allowance for eligible processing, and extra credits may be sold separately.

Current pricing, included credits, and plan differences are shown on the pricing and checkout pages in effect when you buy or renew.

  • Downloads and update checks may require a valid license.
  • Credit usage can vary by workflow.
  • If your balance runs out, additional processing may require renewal or another credit purchase.

Acceptable use

Use Ember for lawful work only. Do not use the software in a way that breaks the law, infringes on someone else's rights, or disrupts the service.

You are responsible for reviewing subtitles, timing, translations, and other output before delivery or publication.

  • Do not bypass licensing, credits, rate limits, or other access controls.
  • Do not submit content you do not have the right to use.
  • Do not interfere with Ember's services or try to gain unauthorized access.

Updates and dependencies

Ember may release updates, bug fixes, compatibility changes, and service improvements over time. Some workflows also depend on third-party software or providers such as DaVinci Resolve and FFmpeg.

Changes to Ember or its dependencies can affect feature behavior, supported environments, and availability.

  • A valid license may be required for current downloads and update services.
  • Third-party tools remain subject to their own terms and availability.
  • Features may change over time.

Support and policy updates

Ember may update these terms from time to time. Please review the latest version on this site before purchase, renewal, or continued use.

If you have a question about billing, access, or policy, contact support@embersubs.com.

What stays on your device

Subtitle editing, track layout, exports, and DaVinci Resolve integration run locally on your machine.

If you work from local files, those editing and export actions stay part of the on-device workflow.

  • Local subtitle editing stays inside the desktop app.
  • Subtitle exports are created locally.
  • Resolve timeline actions use the local integration path.

Licensing, downloads, and updates

Ember uses license and session data to activate the app, restore access on launch, authorize downloads, and check for updates.

On your device, Ember stores the license key and refresh token locally so your session can be restored. Access tokens are kept in memory for the active session.

  • A valid license may be required for current downloads and update checks.
  • Update checks themselves do not consume credits.
  • Operational request data may be used for authentication, billing, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service reliability.

Online AI features

When you use Ember's online AI features, the app sends the audio, text, prompts, and request data needed to run that job.

That request path is used for license validation, rate limiting, usage metering, operations, and forwarding to the configured provider for the task you selected.

  • Use online AI features only with material you are comfortable sending for remote processing.
  • Provider availability or model changes can affect how these features behave.

Website analytics

The Ember website may use analytics tools, including Google Analytics when configured, to understand traffic and page or CTA activity.

Depending on your browser and settings, that may include standard website data such as IP address, browser or device information, referrer information, and interaction events.

Questions and updates

Ember may update this privacy page from time to time as the product or website changes.

If you have a privacy question or request, contact support@embersubs.com.

Subscriptions

Ember is sold on a subscription basis. Current plan pricing, included credits, and any extra credit purchase options are shown on the pricing and checkout pages available at the time of purchase.

Your purchase gives you access for the subscription term and any credit allocation attached to that plan or add-on.

Refunds

Except where required by applicable law, Ember subscription payments and additional credit purchases are non-refundable.

That includes unused time left in a billing period and unused credits attached to a completed purchase. Canceling a subscription stops future renewal, but it does not create a refund for the current billing period unless the law says otherwise.

Billing issues and updates

If you believe you were charged in error, or if you are asserting a refund right that applies under local law, email support@embersubs.com with the purchase details.

Ember may update this refund policy from time to time. Please review the latest version before checkout or renewal.
